I am so excited to introduce you to my new website! It provides information about me, my books and a brand new “Editorial Services” page. I’ve added slide shows and videos to the book page and links to articles about writing each book as well as discussion questions you can use in the classroom or a book group. This blog page is less cluttered and hopefully using a handful of categories instead of numerous tags will help you to find what interests you more easily. (Scroll down on the right to find them.) It has been a mad scramble. I have talked about updating my site for years now, but it always seemed like too much work. Not only would there be the learning curve of figuring out a new system, but there were all those old blog posts that would have to be moved or lose the content with the site.
I made a sincere attempt a year ago. I investigated hosts that had been recommended, but they were so complicated I was soon overwhelmed. And the cost was going to be as much as my old site so why bother? Then at the end of November I was asked to be webmaster for my local chapter of American Christian Fiction Writers. “It’s so easy,” I was told when I agreed to consider it. “Yeah, right,” I thought. But it was! I soon realized that Weebly would allow me to do all I wanted for an author website. (Well, almost. I have had to do a few workarounds.) Instead of having all of 2014 to leisurely figure out the new system and transfer my data before my annual payment on the old site was due, I had six weeks. And there were three major holidays in there! (Wonder why you haven’t seen many blogs from me lately?) But I did it! The last couple weeks have been getting feedback from my writers’ groups, transferring the domain and tweaking the look. This week it went live! There is still a little tweaking to do (I would like to add sample chapters and another video), but when I enter my domain name www.leannehardy.net the new site comes up—just in time to cancel billing on the old this weekend! (Whew, that was close!) So check out the new simplified layout, the book links and the brand new editorial services page.
