Editorial Services

I am a teacher by nature, and I love helping other authors to make their work as good as it can be. I have critiqued, edited and proofread for such publishers as Kregel, Zonderkidz, Tristan and Langham. Whether you are planning to submit to a traditional publisher or to publish independently, you want your work to be at its highest level. A freelance editor can help.

I specialize in adult inspirational and young adult fiction, memoir, and story-based non-fiction. I do not ghost write. My approach is more like a coach, helping you to grow as a writer and polish your own work. Unfortunately, my time is limited, and I can only take writers whose work I feel is a good fit for me. (No horror or erotica please.)

If you would like to discuss your project, please send me
  1. A cover letter introducing yourself and your project, including the length, genre and your intended audience.
  2. A 1- to 2-page synopsis or summary of the content, including the ending. (I want to see how you resolve the conflict you have set up.)
  3. The first 10-12 pages of text, double-spaced in a standard 12-point font with a minimum 1-inch margin all around.

My fee is $25 for the initial evaluation, payable by check or PayPal. In return I will send a line-by-line critique of your first ten pages plus an evaluation of the project based on your synopsis. We can then discuss whether or not we are a good fit and how to best proceed to meet your goals, and stay within your budget. Before you send your project, take a look at this article "Before You Contact an Editor."

Of Popes, Past and Future

Jorge Mario Bergoglio has long been on my prayer list with a handful of other Christian voices, some of which I agree with, some not. But ...
